Oh Blogger!
Do you remember when online press rooms required registration by visiting journalists? This was on the grounds that they would be receiving privileged information not available to the public. Well they didn't work (not only because privileged information is a no no for public companies). They didn't work because journalists would prefer to browse unannounced and don't take kindly to hurdles being placed in their way.
Three times in the last week I've wanted to comment on different PR blogs, but I've been put off by the requirement to register first for a Blogger account (which I don't need). Today I tried registering but had my (real) name rejected three times. Three strikes and I'm out! I suggest that those with Blogger accounts lobby for a friendlier welcome to those wanting to comment on their entries.
